Given the moments of extreme difficulty that health centers are experiencing in looking after people affected by Coronavirus, the Abertis Foundation shows its willingness to join efforts and announces a donation for a total of €100,000 to the Hospital Universitario La Paz in Madrid and the Hospital Clínic in Barcelona to finance the purchase of sanitary material and equipment that is required in these circumstances.
Likewise, the company also plans to develop, in collaboration with the International Red Cross and Caritas, a project to finance social protection programs aimed at groups in a particularly vulnerable situation (elderly people living alone, sick, or at risk of poverty or exclusion) that have been affected directly or indirectly by the outbreak of the coronavirus COVID-19.
This donation goes along with a campaign that Abertis has launched among its employees to collect donations to mitigate the effects of Coronavirus. Through its corporate volunteer program, the company has invited its workers to collaborate financially in collecting funds that will go to these hospital institutions.
