Del 7 a 10 de marzo de 2016, coincidiendo con el Seminario de clausura del proyecto “Contribución al desarrollo de un modelo integrado para la mejora, el desarrollo y la gestión agroforestal y pastoril en consonancia con los objetivos de conservación y frente a las comunidades vulnerables en las zonas periféricas del Parque Nacional de Bou Hedma“, cofinanciado por la Unión Europea en asociación con el Centro de Investigación Forestal de Cataluña (CTFC), el Instituto Nacional de Investigación en Ingeniería Rural, Aguas y Bosques (INRGREF) y los representantes del Centro Internacional UNESCO han participado en el seminario, la Dra. Roser Maneja, Coordinadora del Centro Internacional UNESCO e investigadora-profesora del ICTA-UAB, y el Sr. Gorka Muñoa, investigador del ICTA-UAB, como ponentes invitados.
La presentación del Centro Internacional UNESCO suscitó un gran interés entre la audiencia y ha generado una red de contactos de cara la adhesión de las Reservas de Biosfera de este país norte africano. Encuentros de estas características permiten desarrollar las líneas estratégicas del Centro Internacional UNESCO.

•This new agreement between Abertis Foundation and the Spanish National Parks Agency (OAPN in its Spanish acronym)—a Spanish public body under the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO)—ensures the continued operation of the UNESCO-endorsed International Centre. The renewed partnership strengthens cooperation and knowledge exchange among Mediterranean Biosphere Reserves.
•The agreement aims to foster research initiatives, training programmes, pilot projects and outreach activities that advance the sustainability of Mediterranean ecosystems and enhance the resilience of biosphere reserves in the face of climate change.
•The renewal consolidates the role of the Abertis Foundation's headquarters at Castellet Castle as a leading hub for biosphere reserve activities, both within the Mediterranean region and internationally.

The event marked the first meeting of the Thematic Networks after the official launch of the Mediterranean Biosphere Reserves Thematic Network MedMaB last June.
