The Teatro Real in Madrid is considered one of Europe’s most outstanding opera theatres. It is one of the most emblematic monuments in the Spanish capital, located in the Plaza de Oriente in the centre of Madrid, opposite the Royal Palace.
After signing a collaboration agreement for musical, lyrical and choreographic activities during the 2010-2011 season, the abertis foundation is now a patron of the Teatro Real, and thanks to this collaboration, employees of the abertis Group in Madrid were for the first time able to enjoy the family concert. The show chosen was “¡Cuéntame el Canto!”, a production by the Teatro Real itself, performed by Laia Falcón, Fabio Barrutia and Celsa Tamayo, and presented by Fernando Palacios. This offering entailed an introduction to the voice and singing techniques, and was aimed especially at children. The concert included fragments from works by Bizet, Strauss, Mozart, Donizetti, Jiménez, Barbieri and Chapí.
