In 2008 the fortress received the greatest number of visits ever since opening
its doors for guided
tours 
.
During the year some 6662 people came to discover the castle, well above the
nigh on 2000 who visited it in 2007, because the fortress remained closed
to the public for most of the year owing to archaeological work. The busiest
months were June, August and November.
Guided tours are conducted on weekend mornings and are free of charge.
