FEDEA-abertis chair for Transport and Infrastructure Economics
The aims of the FEDEA-abertis chair, set up in 2007 by abertis in conjunction with the Applied Economics Studies Foundation (FEDEA), include conducting research on matters relating to the economics of infrastructure and transport, and organising seminars and courses to disseminate the work carried out.
As part of the initiatives promoted by the chair, 2008 saw the setting up of the transport and infrastructure economics researcher network (INVEIT). Furthermore, a number of research projects have been launched including ‘Financial and socio-economic assessment of transport projects’ and ‘Airport regulation and privatisation’.
In 2008, the chair was responsible for organising the 1st
Madrid Workshop on Transport Economics
,
a seminar conceived with the aim of being held once a year in order to address
a benchmark theme. For this first edition the speakers dealt with the topics
of models of ownership and airport management.
