abertis increases its international presence in the sustainability indexes
has joined the selective Down Jones Sustainability Index World, which covers 10% of companies worldwide with the best corporate sustainability criteria, representing 20% of the capitalisation of their sector.
DJSI World is formed of a total of 318 companies in 24 countries, and selects businesses committed to achieving sustainable growth and to creating shareholder value, by adhering to strict economic, social and environmental criteria.
As a result of its selection, abertis
has increased its presence in the international sustainability indexes, since for the second year running it has been chosen to be included in the DJSI Stoxx, the pan-European point of reference that covers 20% of European companies with the highest standards of sustainability and corporate responsibility, representing 45% of the capitalisation of this sector.
The changes to both indexes will be effective as from 20 September.Good rating for abertis
The criteria on which the infrastructure corporation has obtained above-average scores – giving it access to the World index – are those relating to economic, social and environmental management.
In the economic field, the highest scores received by abertis
in the World index are for risk and crisis management, indicators systems, and investor relations. Environmental policy, on the other hand, is the area in which it obtained the most marks in the environmental management section.
As regards social management, the company achieved a high score in development of human capital, employment practices indicators, and relations with suppliers.
