The abertis priority for culture can be found in its collaboration with the main cultural institutions in the country. abertis also contributes to the promotion and dissemination of the historic heritage. This is the context in which we find the restoration of Castellet Castle, the headquarters of the abertis foundation, and the preservation of El Médol.
El Médol is a Roman quarry included in the historic site of Tarragona, declared World Heritage by Unesco. The History Museum of the City of Tarragona takes care of the surveillance of the quarry and ensures that this monument of great historic and biotic interest can be visited, under the auspices of abertis.
More evidence of this commitment to culture can be found in the sculptures and ceramic murals installed on the AP-7 and AP-2 motorways respectively and the management of the 1% of building costs dedicated to cultural purposes.
