The FEDEA-abertis chair of Infrastructure and Transport Economics was created in 2007 by abertis in collaboration with the Fundación de Estudios de Economía Aplicada (Foundation for Applied Economic Studies - FEDEA), an economic research centre created in 1985 by the Bank of Spain. abertis has belonged to the Board of this centre since its inception. The objectives of the FEDEA-abertis chair are to develop research on Infrastructure and Transport Economics issues as well as the organization of seminars and courses to disseminate the research carried out. The holder of the Chair, Gustavo Nombela, is a researcher for FEDEA and has a network of academic collaborators made up of economists specialising in transport and working in Spanish universities, as well as several top-level foreign lecturers (Universities of Harvard, Toulouse, ITS-Leeds, California-Irvine, British Columbia and Brussels).
